Welcome each student warmly, expressing genuine happiness to see them. Use a smile and maintain eye contact to create a positive atmosphere.

Equip and Assist

Help students with any practical needs, such as outdoor clothing, tuning instruments, hooking up cables, to ensure they are comfortable and prepared for the lesson.

Listen and Connect
THE L IN THE MELODY FRAMEWORK

Initiate conversation to update on recent experiences or events since the last band practice. Actively listen for any cues or emotions expressed by students, and use this insight to guide your communication and approach during the lesson.

Observe & Review
THE O IN THE MELODY FRAMEWORK

Reflect on the progress and challenges encountered since the last session. Make a mental note to address any issues that arose during practice and tailor your teaching approach accordingly to support individual needs.

Direct & Engage

Introduce the focus for the current lesson, such as learning a specific song or musical concept. Guide students through the planned activities, encouraging active participation and collaboration in the learning process.
